AI OPPORTUNITY FUND: ASIA-PACIFIC
Led by the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN), the AI Opportunity Fund is a collaborative effort with Google.org and Asian Development Bank, to help workers build AI knowledge and skills to increase their chances of success in an economy that relies on artificial intelligence.
According to the Google Economic Impact Report by Access Partnership, USD 3 trillion of economic benefits are expected for businesses in key Asia-Pacific countries in 2030, if AI-powered products and solutions are adopted. 1 This has implications for the workforce across all sectors and backgrounds emphasizing the need to cultivate a robust pool of AI talent. Despite the significant opportunities that AI presents for the economy, a collective effort is necessary to truly ensure accessibility for all, leaving no one behind.
The AI Opportunity Fund is designed to support organizations that address the needs of workers by providing AI education and training, particularly those who may lack access to such opportunities. Organizations who reach these workers are invited to apply for support from this US$15 million fund. Successful applicants will receive funding and comprehensive training in local languages based on Google and external AI courses.
